Wanaka is the perfect place for a cycling or mountain bike adventure. There is quite a range of good mountain biking options. Mellow lakeside trails, challenging downhill rides, exploration of old miners tracks and heli mountain biking. The climate in Wanaka makes it ideal for cycling all year round.

The Otago Rail Trail can be accessed throughout the year, and has been specifically created for mountain bikers, walkers and horse riders. A cycling or walking adventure of a lifetime through 150km of some of New Zealand’s most memorable scenery and awe-inspiring gold mining history.

- Wanaka – Wanaka Golf Club course is a breathtaking golf experience with the 5,794 metre, par 70 course surrounded by the snow-capped peaks of Mt Aspiring National Park. This flat to undulating course is an excellent test for all players in a picturesque environment.
Wanaka Golf Course is located close to the centre of town with four other high quality golf courses all within an hours drive of Wanaka: - Arrowtown – Millbrook Resort near Arrowtown is a championship course designed by Sir Bob Charles in a magnificent setting with stunning views of Coronet Peak and the Remarkables. The 6,420 metre, par 72 course is rated by Tourism New Zealand as one of the best eight in the country and is often described as one of the finest alpine courses in the world.
- Queenstown – Kelvin Heights is on the shores of beautiful Lake Wakatipu, framed by The Remarkables. It is an all year round scenic golfing experience.
